This is a note from Barb of limebarb.com, I have posted this note to speak on the issue of the past troubles of backlogged orders from limebarb.com, there is a lot of false or exagertaed information out there - old valid complaints that have been resolved but the costumer neglected to take them down as well as truckloads of invalid, exagerated, missinformed bashing for no real reason other than someone deciding they dont like me. :( Often the later being posted by people who have never had an order with me.

The truth of the whole matter of the late orders of the past can be sumed up by saying that some times people get bogged down, and suffer great falls ... but if they really care then they get themselves up, dust off, and go about setting things right. :)

About Past Troubles - I started limebarb.com as just an extention of my own hobbies and it grew into the small business that it is today. In 2004 to begining 2005 there were a lot of issues that resulted in a handful of late orders and poor contact. One was the fact that we grew overwhelmingly large overnight, I wasn't set up to properly handle the order flow. At the time I was just another fan, I wasn't the business owner that I had to be, nor did I know how to be. Second was my boyfriend/business partner/ "account manager" (as he has falsly been called) didn't pull his weight in the business. Third was a lot of personal issue between me and him that led to a stormy break-up directly related to his poor choices, but left me with no choice but to move to another apartment and try to pick up the pieces of a broken relationship, little money, too many orders and poor ability to keep up proper contact with customers. From there it was a very slow crawl back into normal living, and saving up so I could offer the refunds that I owed people. I have made every effort to make it up to those who had backlogged orders, I cant tell you how horrible I felt knowing they were without costumes for thier functions, knowing they spent a lot and now thier dreams are dashed. All I can say is Im sorry it happened. Its unfortunate, but sometimes bad things happen and its unfortunate that when they happened to me it directy affected my customers.

Public Complaints - Complaints in public forums being shut down have nothing to do with anyone at limebarb.com, and everything to do with the fact that there were 15% of valid customer complaints, and 85% slanderous erraneous information, exagerations of my past behavior, just missinforming the public. The 3 BBB complaints I received (all now well over a year and a half old) were closed within a week of receiving them because I corrected everything - thus there was no longer a complaint. :)

Quaility Issues - The quaility of my customer costumes have never suffered for any reason. It should be mentioned that quaility overall has improved throughout the years as I went through proper training to be a seamstress, and gained more experience. One should also take note that when I stated out years ago, I charged barely above the cost of construction, and that the prices of my outfits have only increased according to my better abilities. There is huge difference in quaility between a fuku bought from me for $45 four years ago versus one bought for $95 from me now. Also, costume commissioning is a hard business to be in because your translating a drawn picture into real life that someone else might translate differently, there has certainly been a case of someone not being happy with something because they felt like it should be different, so they claim to have a quaility issue when really the issue is purly a difference of opinion. Not to say mistakes have never happen, of course mistakes happen to every person - all the time! ^^ But as each customer should know (as they are required to read my guidelines) they can contact me for an exchange or alteration up to a month after receiving the costume if a mistake has been made. So no one can complain if they did not take advantage of this offer.

Back to Normal - While I can't deny we had some odds and ends of late orders in the past, I can say that most orders of the past went out on time, to happy customers. I can certainly say that we curently do not have late orders, and backlogged orders have not been a problem for awhile. There are no late orders, and each person who I have had a late order with has received their order, received a refund, or has similarly been compensated for their troubles. I never intended to let things get backlogged like they did. I did not sit back and rub my hands together 'raking in the dough", nor do I run any form of scam.

One can see for themselves the hundreds of costumes that have gone out to customers in my new and old gallery. People can now check out weekly updates (started in the summer of 2005) to see the list with tracking numbers of shipped orders. We are currently taking on more orders than we ever have before and they are going out effeciently and on time. Since the trouble I have grown to fill my shoes as a business owner. :) I try my best to give each order my all, and orders always come first in my life now. You can expect a good costume from me, prompt responses and a lot of love put into what I create. I try to answer customers right away but requests for quotes sometimes can take a week or so if im busy - since working on current orders and keeping up with current customers is more important than taking on a new order. :3

Thank you for those customers out there who waited patiently for me to get my life together. Thank you to all my current costumers, and my many return customers. Thank you to anyone who might come across this page who took the time to read through it instead of running away with an incomplete understanding of the situation to further spread miss-information.
